About The Swire Inn

Opened January 2019 by Middletown native John Langhorne, named after his great-grandfather John Swire Langhorne—a northern Englishman who fell in love with a woman headed to America. Historic building constructed in 1864, served as doctor's office, boarding house, political headquarters, and more. World traveler Langhorne renovated the run-down interior with brick and reclaimed wood to evoke a cozy English pub. Head Chef Corey Estes creates rotating specials based on guest feedback including the Ugly Donut Burger featuring glazed donut from longtime Middletown institution Central Pastry Shop. General Manager Shelbi Hamilton started six years ago as part-time server. Live music on patio in warmer months, inside during cooler weather.
