The Root Beer Stande

A nostalgic carhop drive-in serving the Dayton area since 1961. Trays still hang on car windows while 1950s and 60s music plays overhead. Owner Emily Collins, who purchased the business in 2008 after graduating from Ohio University, has modernized the menu while preserving classics like footlong hot dogs, cheeseburgers, crinkle-cut fries, and house-made root beer served in frosted mugs. Seasonal operation runs approximately February through mid-November. Cash only; ATM available on-site.
