The Jug

One of the oldest hamburger drive-ins in the country, founded 1932 by Bert and Alice Lawler, celebrating 93 years in 2025. Current owner Donnie Osborne purchased April 2018 and grew up blocks away, also owns Shaddock's Pizza in Middletown. Classic carhop service with orders taken at car window or picnic tables. Famous for burgers covered with chili sauce, onions, and pickles; frosted-mug root beer; and soft-serve ice cream. Kenny Steele has been a carhop here for 40+ years and is considered as much a staple as the burgers themselves. Former owner Dick Henderson (30 years) stopped by after Osborne took over and helped tweak the recipe back to the glory days.
