Opened July 9, 2025—the newest addition to Ryan George's RLG Restaurant Group, which also operates Capricorn Inn, 73 Grill, and General Denver. George started at Outback Steakhouse as a kid, worked his way up, then bought 73 Grill from Victor Castillo. Within 11 months he acquired General Denver and Rod's Capricorn because 'they were loved by the community.' The Blackbird is his first from-scratch concept—a traditional daytime diner in the former Beaugard's Southern Bar B Q space. Cozy and quiet atmosphere, greasy-spoon vibes done right. Biscuits and gravy is the top seller. Over 100 employees across all four RLG locations.
