Solid choice. Make the effort to get here. These are your reliable go-to spots, good food, good vibes, no regrets. Not a special-occasion destination, but consistently worth showing up for. The bread and butter of great local dining.

Strong's operates out of a converted house, and that decision tells you everything about the vibe — casual, neighborhood-driven, and unpretentious. You're here for the pizza, and the pizza delivers.

The wood-fired oven is the engine. Crusts come out charred on the edges, soft and chewy in the center, light but sturdy enough to hold whatever you throw on top. The char and smoke are unmistakable — this isn't franchised delivery pizza, and it doesn't pretend to be. Toppings taste fresh, the sauce has brightness to it, and the cheese pulls the way it should.

The menu offers range without overwhelming. The 3 Cheese Bianca with prosciutto is a crowd favorite. The Mindy Mediterranean and Almost Famous hold their own. Calzones and wings round things out, but the pizza is the prize here. Prices stay reasonable.

Staff are friendly and attentive. The patio is dog-friendly, and they'll bring your pup water and pepperoni without being asked twice.

Bar program is solid for a pizza joint. The Butterscotch Old Fashioned has a following, and they keep Smithwicks on tap year-round if that's your thing.

Strong's isn't reinventing pizza, but it is doing it right — wood-fired, well-executed, and worth the trip. Oh, and it may sound weird, but try the baked potato pizza appetizer. Delish.

Back again at Strong’s Brick Oven Pizzeria, and it continues to be a place we genuinely enjoy returning to. This visit leaned into two familiar directions: the Quattro Formaggi with sausage, prosciutto, and bacon, and the classic Meat pie. Both were solid across the board. The toppings were well-balanced, flavors came through cleanly, and that oven-fired crust remains a standout — blistered, chewy, and exactly what you want from a brick oven pie. The more time we spend here, though, the clearer it becomes that Strong’s signature pizzas are really the ticket. While our choices delivered, a few pies landing on nearby tables immediately caught our attention. We’re not shy, so we asked. One in particular stood out. Mad Dog — you’re next. That pie looked fantastic, and it reinforced the idea that Strong’s creativity is where things really get interesting. Might get it half & half (another option) with another Strong's specialty. We finished with two desserts: the white pie topped with chocolate and the hot apple pizza. Both were very good. The apple pie pizza, especially, benefited from a little extra help at home — adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream took it up a notch and rounded it out nicely. Strong’s continues to offer consistency where it matters and originality where it counts. The crust keeps us coming back, but the signature pies are what truly make this place worth revisiting — and there are still a few calling our name. Shout out to Bree for once again delivering excellent service.

Stopped in to grab a slice and ended up going all in. Started with the Diavolo Dolce — a spicy pie that brings together banana peppers and spicy red sauce with pineapple and bacon. Sounds odd on paper. Works beautifully in practice. The heat nearly coats the wood-fired crust like a built-in dipping sauce, while the pineapple pulls it back just enough to keep you reaching for another bite. The crust itself is excellent — charred, chewy, and exactly what you want from a wood-fired operation. Grabbed a Pizza Alla Vodka to go and couldn't resist sampling it before we left. The vodka cream sauce is both rich and original, and frankly, every pizza should have prosciutto. No notes. The wife ordered an Italian hero. It was fine — good, even — but relatively bland compared to what was coming out of the oven. Pizza is clearly what Strong's does best, and that's not a knock. It's the point. Capped the meal with a slice of limoncello cheesecake. Three of us ended up picking at it, and the verdict was unanimous — a great way to finish. Thanks to Bree for taking care of us; she did a great job.
