Liv AnnOpen since 1912 and still in the hands of the founding family, this downtown Cincinnati institution takes its name from a story: founder Salvatore Scoleri befriended Metropolitan Opera star Antonio Scotti in Philadelphia in 1911 and asked to honor him with the name of his new restaurant. Four generations of the DiMarco family later, the mosaic tile walls, Chianti bottles overhead, and check tablecloths are all still there. Entrees come with minestrone soup, salad, and housemade garlic bread. The veal preparations run deep, and the cannoli and tiramisu are made in house. One of the longest continuously operating Italian restaurants in Ohio.
