Montgomery Inn - The Original

The Gregory family's barbecue empire began here on November 1, 1951, when Ted Gregory took over McCabe's Inn in what was then a sleepy country village. His wife Matula developed the signature tangy-sweet sauce that put Cincinnati ribs on the map—she deserves the title "Ribs Queen" though Ted became known as "The Ribs King." Five U.S. presidents have dined here, along with Bob Hope, Johnny Bench, and Neil Armstrong. The original location is packed with sports memorabilia. Sauce ranked Top 5 in America by Bon Appétit.
