Mayan Cafe

Chef Bruce Ucán, a Mayan Indian from Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, was a pioneer in NuLu when he opened his first restaurant here in 1997. Since 2007, he and co-owner Anne Shadle have served authentic Mayan cuisine using locally-sourced ingredients from Kentucky farms. Their commitment to farm-to-table extends to sustainably produced meats and seasonal produce. Signature dishes include cochinita pibil, mole, and their legendary lima beans.
