Marx Hot Bagels

Cincinnati's original bagel shop since 1969. Hal Block brought bagels from New York to Ohio in 1967; when Hot Bagels went into receivership, manager John Marx bought the Cincinnati location and built it into a beloved institution over 50 years. The legendary "Bagelman" would don blue tights and a cape to schmooze customers. Despite encouragement to add meats, Marx maintained strict kosher standards. Current owners YY and Rena Davis (since 2019) continue the legacy. Over 30 varieties baked fresh daily—boiled, baked on stone, no preservatives. Sixteen cream cheese flavors.
