Chase FrancisFamily-owned since 2012, Lucky Duck is a neighborhood sports bar that puts more effort into its food than most places in its category. The wings are a staple — regulars swear by the BBQ honey mustard combo — and the pork tater skins and Mushroom Swiss Burger pull their weight. House-made Saratoga Chips are a nice touch. The fish sandwich has quietly built a following. Trivia nights, karaoke, and Singo (music bingo) keep things lively throughout the week. TVs cover the sports, staff are friendly, and the vibe is casual without feeling like an afterthought. Non-smoking.
Official Curated Review
Solid choice. Make the effort to get here. These are your reliable go-to spots, good food, good vibes, no regrets. Not a special-occasion destination, but consistently worth showing up for. The bread and butter of great local dining.
Went in on a Saturday morning just after open. Already a handful of people and a couple really nice guys at the bar for conversation. No agenda at Lucky Duck. Super friendly bartender with advice on all things menu and beverage.
Just a neighborhood sports bar doing its thing well enough that the regulars have their seats — and the kind of place where they'll still make room for you anyway.
Walk in right when they open and it's quiet. Come back an hour later and the bar’s full, tables filling up fast. That tells you everything you need to know.
Laid-back without being sleepy. Loud enough to feel alive, quiet enough to actually talk.
Jukebox playing familiar songs at the right volume. A legit TV wall for games. A little more personality than you expect — pop art, neon, and just enough edge to separate it from every other strip mall sports bar.
By the time things get going, it’s locals. Not kinda locals. Locals locals.
And they’re the kind that’ll strike up a conversation, recommend what to order, and then tell you to stay when you offer to give your seat back.
We were here for the wings specifically today.
Dry rubs are the move for us — Cowbell and Cajun — both bringing real depth without overdoing the heat. What stands out is the texture: crispy skin that holds up, meaty birds that don’t feel like an afterthought. Next time I'll get the ghostbuster. Common consensus it is like the others where flavor isn't ruined by heat, which is key.
Dip them in the spicy garlic. Ranch and blue cheese come with it — free — but the spicy garlic is the call to jazz them up a bit.
The potato skins are worth your time too, especially with the Duckin Sauce, their hottest. The people next to you will insist. They’re right.
Then there’s the curveball — housemade gelato, made from scratch by the chef. Rotating flavors. Legitimately done right. Ask what’s available and don’t skip it.
Worth a Short Detour
A neighborhood bar that gets its wings right is one thing.
A neighborhood bar that does that and makes its own gelato?
That’s something else.
