A Louisville institution since 1933, when Jack Fry—a bookie and bootlegger—first opened the doors. Today, Executive Chef Shawn K. Ward leads a kitchen known for Southern cuisine with French influence. The walls display historic black-and-white photos of racehorses and prizefighters, and live jazz fills the intimate dining room Tuesday through Saturday. Signature dishes include shrimp and grits, lamb chops, and their renowned seasonal fruit cobbler with house-made ice cream.
