Dragon King's Daughter

Chef-owner Toki Masabuchi opened in Louisville's Highlands in 2009 after running the beloved Maido Essential Japanese. Born in Osaka and educated at Lindsey Wilson College and the University of Louisville, she built her concept from a take-out sushi stand to a regional institution. The menu fuses Japanese classics with Mexican and Western influences—think sushi rolls alongside Asian-inspired tacos and quesadillas. The New Albany location features a robatayaki grill at the bar for charcoal-grilled snacks, with rotating craft beers and an extensive sake selection.
