If You're Nearby

Glad it's there. Not a place we go out of our way for, but one we're happy to return to when we're in the area. Solid, dependable, and worth stopping into without hesitation if you're nearby.

Craving wonton soup, I gave Chin Fusion a shot for takeout — and it delivered where it counts. The broth had real depth, not just salt and steam. The wontons were generously stuffed and genuinely satisfying. My only gripe? Three barely scratches the surface. They’re good enough that a couple more would make the bowl feel complete. I also tried the California roll. Clean execution, balanced flavors, no gimmicks. If you’ve spent time around the sushi scene, it won’t necessarily separate itself from the pack — but it’s solid and dependable. The next day, I went back for the pho with meatballs and the crunchy roll. Both were very tasty. The pho leaned salty, which is expected, and it arrived impressively hot — still 165 degrees when I got home 25 minutes later. I respect that commitment to temperature, especially for takeout. That said, thicker to-go cups would help. When something is pushing near-boiling, it shouldn’t feel like a grip-strength challenge. The crunchy roll was well done, though if you’re not big on sweeter sushi, know that this one carries noticeable sweetness. For pho specifically, I’ll likely lean toward 3 Ladies Thai Cuisine up the road next time. Their broth edges it out for me in balance and depth. That’s personal preference, not a knock on Chin’s — but if pho is the mission, that’s where I’m heading. That said, I would absolutely return to Chin for the wonton soup. That’s been the clear standout for me so far. On price, pho with meatballs and a specialty roll ran $31 before tip. After a modest takeout tip, you’re around $35. That’s not bargain Asian takeout pricing. You’re paying for consistent execution rather than a budget meal. Bottom line: Chin Fusion lands in If You’re Nearby — and it’s close to climbing higher. It’s consistent, well-prepared, and reliable. It doesn’t quite create that “drop what you’re doing and drive across town” pull yet, but it’s firmly in the rotation — especially when that wonton soup craving hits.

"If it's not better than a chain, it doesn't deserve to be on wellfd."

Wonton soup is fire. Comes out piping hot and full of flavor. It does cool down pretty fast if you’re eating there. And when they’ve got the egg drop soup? That one might actually be my favorite. It’s right there with the wonton.
